The mandates of the EB members who will be elected on 5 November 2022 will run until the 2026 FIH Congress. If there is a fifth position as EB Member to be elected, the term of office of that member will be of two years to take over the remaining two years of Mohammad Tayyab Ikram as an EB Member.

The duration of the term of the new FIH President will be of 2 years, in order to complete the mandate of previous FIH President Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra who resigned on 18 July.

The FIH Executive Board consists of:

     - The FIH President;

     - Eight Ordinary members - four female and four male members -, one half being renewed every two years;

     - An Athletes' Representative;

     - The Presidents of the Continental Federations;

     - The FIH CEO;

     - Any (non-voting) member co-opted onto the Executive Board pursuant to Article 7.1(c) of the FIH Statutes.

Elections will be conducted via e-voting (art. 6.3 c) FIH Statutes) and overseen by the FIH Elections Oversight Panel (EOP), as stipulated in the FIH Elections Manual (art. 11). UK company Lumi will operate the e-voting process. Furthermore, FIH has appointed an independent notary (from UK firm Cheeswrights Scrivener Notaries LLP), who will chair and oversee the election process. His powers are delegated by the Elections Oversight Panel.

As specified in the FIH Statutes (article 2.2(a)(ii)), newly approved Members present at Congress will have the right to participate in meetings of Congress and to cast a vote on resolutions put to Congress. This year, the Indonesian Hockey Federation (PP FHI) is applying for membership.

On the eve of the Congress, all delegates have been invited to join a virtual conference – titled “Stronger Together” - organised by FIH where major topics such as fan engagement, innovation, sustainability and development will be discussed.

The second day of the 48th FIH Congress (5 November) will be streamed live on Watch.Hockey.
