Newly appointed Secretary General of Pakistan Hockey Federation Muhammad Asif Bajwa has assured that he would make every effort to promote national hockey at all levels.

Addressing his maiden press conference after assuming charge as PHF Secretary General at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore, Mr. Bajwa said that there would be no changes in team management which is preparing the National Hockey Outfit for next month's Beijing Olympic Games. He hoped and wished that Pakistan would reach at the victory stand in Beijing. ÔÇ£I know it is very difficult, ÔÇ£he intoned, ÔÇ£But I hope that the team management and the boys would come up to the expectations to accomplish this arduous task.ÔÇØ

The PHF Secretary said that after getting good assistance from various quarters he would take hockey to new Olympian heights. ÔÇ£But for the moment the focus is on Olympics, ÔÇ£he said, ÔÇ£therefore we are all wishing the best of luck for our senior team at Beijing.ÔÇØ

The Secretary also informed the media that PHF offices will be opened from 9 to 5 pm. Mr Bajwa was flanked by Zahir Shah, Secretary NWFP Hockey Association, Rana Mujahid Ali, Secretary Punjab Hockey Associaion and Miss Parveen Sikandar Gill, Secretary PHF (Women Wing).
