FIH President Tayyab Ikram had an intense schedule in Lausanne in the last few days, as he missed no opportunities to promote hockey and push for its development.

His busy agenda included a meeting with IOC President Thomas Bach at the Olympic House – the IOC headquarters – where the next meeting of the FIH Executive Board will take place on 6 June.

The FIH President also welcomed Pakistan’s Ambassador in Switzerland, Aamir Shouket, at the International Hockey Federation (FIH) offices. The discussions centered around potential routes to bring Pakistan – a historical powerhouse of world hockey – back onto the international stage, with FIH ready to provide best advice in this regard. From his part, Ambassador Shouket expressed its intention to develop closer relationships with FIH and approach the Pakistani authorities at a higher level to help the cause.

Furthermore, President Ikram had a consultation call with around 40 National Associations – as well as representatives from Continental Federations – to discuss, amongst others, about potential new opportunities for them to join FIH events in the near future.

He also had a special gathering with the FIH management team.

Last but not least, he had a particularly healthy and fruitful online interaction with representatives from USA Field Hockey and the US hockey community.

The FIH President will attend the 56th General Assembly of the German Hockey Association in Berlin on 6 May, where he will deliver the opening address.
