The global hockey community will come together in Doha, Qatar, for the landmark 50th FIH Statutory Congress taking place on 24 October 2026. This important biennial gathering will bring together representatives of the global hockey family to address key matters relating to the governance and future development of the sport. The programme (see schedule below) will also feature the FIH Award Ceremony, during which the winners of the FIH Hockey Stars Awards 2026 will be revealed, as well as a National Associations Forum and a meeting of the FIH Executive Board.

As previously announced, elections to the FIH Executive Board will be one of the main highlights of the Congress agenda. The agenda will also include an address and report by FIH President Tayyab Ikram, a vote on the Lebanese Hockey Federation’s application for membership, and the presentation of a review of the FIH Regulatory and Judicial Framework. Together, these items reflect the breadth of the matters to be addressed by the global hockey community during this significant gathering.

Held on the eve of the Congress, the National Associations Forum will provide a valuable opportunity for dialogue and exchange on two major topics: the IOC’s “Fit for the Future” initiative and the new FIH strategic framework. Both discussions will be central to considering the evolving landscape of international sport and defining priorities for the continued development of hockey worldwide.

Ahead of this week’s milestone, FIH President Tayyab Ikram said: “The 50th FIH Statutory Congress is both a celebration of our journey and an important moment to define what comes next. We gather here in Doha not only to carry forward the important work of FIH, but also to celebrate how far we have come - as reflected in the growing global reach of hockey across broadcast and digital platforms - to demonstrate the solidarity that unites our hockey community, and to collectively shape the roadmap for the next chapter of our sport. By working together with unity, purpose and ambition, I am confident that we can continue to build a stronger future for hockey.”
