IOC President Thomas Bach and FIH President Tayyab Ikram met at the Olympic House – the IOC headquarters – on 3 May. 

Tayyab Ikram updated Thomas Bach about the launch of the global development strategy of FIH – with engagement and empowerment as key pillars – that will occur at the next meeting of the FIH Executive Board which will take place precisely at the Olympic House on 6 June. 

The 2024 Olympic Games and 2026 Youth Olympic Games, set to be staged in Paris and Dakar respectively, were also discussed, with President Ikram give a full preparation update. 

Both Presidents also discussed a few political and security challenges that the Olympic movement is facing. 

And the FIH President already extended a personal invitation to Thomas Bach to the future FIH events.

We had really fruitful discussions and I look forward to the opening of our next EB meeting by Thomas Bach himself, at the Olympic House. This is a great honor for the global hockey community.”
