The FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 was fabulous both on the pitch and in the stands. It was also hugely successful worldwide, thanks to an unparalleled performance on TV, social media, and Watch.Hockey. Today, we look at the performance across Watch.Hockey, FIH’s streaming platform.

Lausanne, Switzerland – The FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium & Netherlands 2026 has taken the FIH’s global streaming platform, Watch.Hockey, operated in collaboration with Deltatre, to new heights, recording unprecedented levels of usage and engagement throughout the tournament.

Between 15 August and 1 September 2026, Watch.Hockey generated more than one million views and over 20 million minutes watched, with an average viewing time of around 20 minutes per view.

The World Cup Pass was sold in 112 countries, resulting in the highest number of event pass sales since the streaming service was reimagined and relaunched last year on Deltatre VESPER, the end-to-end streaming platform.

The geographical spread of the audience saw Great Britain, the USA, the Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Germany among the countries recording the highest levels of viewing, with four continents represented among the six leading markets.

The results underline both the global reach of the tournament and the growing appetite for digital access to the world’s best hockey.

Deltatre CRO Peter Bellamy said: “We’re really proud of our partnership with FIH, bringing together our streaming technology and strategy and growth services offering to deliver real commercial value. It’s great to see this translating into more fans reached around the world, greater choice and flexibility in how they watch, and continued growth year on year.”

Designed to offer hockey fans around the world an unparalleled viewing experience, Watch.Hockey brings together live hockey action and extended highlights. Fans can subscribe through either a season pass or an event pass.

In a short period of time, Watch.Hockey, available on mobile, web and streaming devices, has established itself as a true enabler for hockey fans to access their favourite sport easily and at any time. Importantly, the platform is also helping FIH reach beyond the established hockey audience, providing an accessible gateway for new and non-hockey fans to discover the sport.

Over the past year, Watch.Hockey has also hosted a growing range of competitions from FIH Continental Federations, extending its international offer and further establishing the platform as a destination for hockey fans around the world. This growing portfolio will provide an important foundation for the platform’s continued development in the years ahead.

Fans can look forward to another exciting season of international hockey, with Watch.Hockey bringing them live action and highlights from the FIH Hockey Pro League, FIH Hockey Nations Cup, FIH Hockey Nations Cup 2, and more.

With momentum building, a growing global audience and an expanding digital offer, Watch.Hockey is playing an increasingly important role in making hockey more accessible, and bringing the sport to fans wherever they are.
