The year 2025 concluded with both the FIH Hockey Junior World Cups, women’s and men’s, which, for the very first time, featured a record total of 48 teams!
This was made possible by a decision from FIH, in line with its Empowerment and Engagement strategy, to increase participation in FIH events and thereby provide emerging nations with a better opportunity to take part in these events.
As a result of this bold move, six teams made their debut in the tournament last month: Namibia (women), Bangladesh, China, Namibia, Oman and Switzerland (men).
In this video, you will hear from these teams about their expectations prior to the event, their experiences, and their main takeaways!
