The coaching staff of Los Leones, led by Lucas Rey, announced the list of 20 players who will make up the squad for the 2026 Hockey World Cup, to be held jointly in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Tobias Martins, Iñaki Minadeo, Joaquin Ruiz, Facundo Sarto and Santiago Tarazona make up the reserves.
After competing in the FIH Pro League 2025-26 European window, the national team resumed training at Club San Fernando. There, they will begin the final stretch of preparation for the 2026 World Championship, their main objective this year.
THE LIONS' SCHEDULE
The men's national team will compete in Group A, with matches taking place in the Netherlands. The team will begin its participation one day after the tournament opens and will face Japan, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, with the following match schedule*:
Sunday, August 16 - 2:00 PM: Argentina vs. Japan
Tuesday, August 18 - 1:00 PM: Argentina vs. Netherlands
Thursday, August 20 - 7:30 AM: New Zealand vs. Argentina

About the 2026 World Cup
The top international competition will bring together a total of 32 national teams, divided into 16 women's and 16 men's teams. The matches will be played at two official venues: the Wagener Stadium, located in Amsterdam (Netherlands), and the new Belfius Hockey Arena, located in Wavre (Belgium).
