The coaching staff of Las Leonas, led by Fernando Ferrara, announced the list of 20 players who will make up the squad for the 2026 Hockey World Cup, to be held jointly in the Netherlands and Belgium.

The players called up:

After finishing as runners-up in the 2025-26 FIH Pro League, the national team resumed training at the National High-Performance Sports Center on Monday, July 6. There, they will begin the final stretch of preparation for the 2026 World Championship, their main objective this year.

THE PATH OF THE LIONESSES

The women's national team, part of Group B, will make its debut on the opening day of the competition in Belgium. The team will seek qualification for the next stage by facing the United States, Germany, and Scotland, according to the following schedule*:

  • Saturday, August 15 - 12:30 PM: Argentina vs. United States

  • Monday, August 17 - 12:00 PM: Germany vs. Argentina

  • Wednesday, August 19 - 6:00 AM: Argentina vs. Scotland

About the 2026 World Cup

The top international competition will bring together a total of 32 national teams, divided into 16 women's and 16 men's teams. The matches will be played at two official venues: the Wagener Stadium, located in Amsterdam (Netherlands), and the new Belfius Hockey Arena, located in Wavre (Belgium).
