Thies Prinz, Paul Kaufmann, Teo Hinrichs, Tom Grambusch, Christopher Rühr, Justus Weigand, Hannes Müller, Moritz Ludwig and Jean Danneberg were part of the squad in 2023 that was crowned world champion in Bhubaneswar, India, after a thrilling final victory against Belgium.

Prinz, Kaufmann, Hinrichs, Grambusch, Weigand, Müller, Ludwig, Danneberg as well as Benedikt Schwarzhaupt, Johannes Große, Michel Struthoff, Erik Kleinlein and Malte Hellwig were also crowned European champions at the home tournament in Mönchengladbach last year.

The four U21 World Champions from 2023 – Joshua Onyekwue Nnaji, Hugo von Montgelas, Antheus Barry, Jakob Brilla – along with Justus Warweg, who won the U21 World Championship in India in December 2025, will play their first major tournament for the senior national team. The squad is completed by Linus Müller, who was already part of the German senior team at the 2023 European Championship and the 2024 Paris Olympics. The team is led by captain Tom Grambusch.

At the World Championship in August, the German team will face Malaysia (15.08., 14:30), host Belgium (17.08., 20:30) and France (19.08., 17:00) in the group stage at the newly built Belfius Hockey Stadium in Wavre, Belgium.

National coach André Henning emphasized: "My greatest respect goes to all the players who have dedicated themselves to the team in such an impressive manner over the past few months. We only have 20 spots, but significantly more outstanding candidates and personalities. Everyone has given their all for each other. We have now assembled a World Championship team that possesses a great deal of quality and just as much potential. With an average age of just over 25, we will be one of the youngest teams in the tournament. I am incredibly excited for the five players who will be playing their first major tournament for Germany. At the same time, we have 14 players who have already won titles for us. The combination of hunger and knowledge of how success works will carry this team."
