The renovated National Stadium Sports Park, the epicenter of the Metropolitan Region and the home of millions of citizens of Santiago, is one of the main venues that will host the largest number of sports for the Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
It is the largest high-performance sports park, and also the largest in the Americas, where new sports facilities will be part of the legacy that Chile will have after this sporting event.
Located in the heart of the Ñuñoa commune, and one of the great new green lungs that Santiago will have, it has open recreational walks and parks for families, promoting more than 10 hectares of green and recreational areas for citizens. But one of the great uses of this venue has to do with its new facilities, renovations, and new training centers thanks to the high-level infrastructure that will be built to prepare for Santiago 2023.
With more than 64 hectares to accommodate high performance, and with a total intervention of 31 hectares to the already enabled facilities, the park will have interior bike lanes, sports spaces for soccer practice, rugby fields, multi-purpose courts, field hockey courts, pedestrian walks, landscaping, and tree planting. In addition, new state-of-the-art facilities are planned, designed to enhance the development of athletes and for athletes, adding a total investment of more than 19 billion Chilean pesos.
