NEW ZEALAND

Olivia Merry, Captain: “We’re obviously quite aware it’s a brand new pitch and I think the pitch here is fantastic.”

Darren Smith, Head Coach; “We had 10 days in Terrassa and played some matches against Spain, that was a great way to start and to get into the rhythm of being on tour.”

Megan Hull, Captain; “We’ve had a good week session out there today and everyone is looking and feeling pretty good”

INDIA

Savita, Goalkeeper and Captain; Expectations are high, it’s good for us. It’s important to focus on ourselves and fight hard”.

Janneke Schopman, Head Coach; “It’s about knowing what we can do and how we can play with our strengths.”

CHILE

Camila Caram, Captain; “We are very proud to be here representing our country. It’s a historic moment for us.”

Constanza Palma, “The stadium looks really nice, it’s a dream come true to play there and with all of our family and friends it will be nice. It will be a great atmosphere.”

Sergio Vigil, Head Coach; “We prepared very hard. Chile’s team will leave its own mark in this World Cup- a collective spirit, pride and an intelligent game. We will be a hard team to beat.”

ENGLAND

David Ralph, Head Coach; “We had the Pro League season which was given as a great opportunity to play a variety of teams in a variety of countries and allow us to start to develop how we want to play and allow players to get used to the international games.”

Hollie Pearne-Webb, Team Captain “Our pool is incredibly tough, I don’t think there are any easy games. India is a really tough one to start with.”

GERMANY

Valentin Altenburg, Head Coach, “Our stay so far is very helpful because we need some time for us as a team to grow together. We could test against Australia, play China in the pro league so we are very happy we had the week we had.”

Sonia Zimmermann, Captain; “It’s an open book as we are a whole new team, we would rather just look at our goals in steps and so far we just want to perform in all the important matches.”

Netherlands

Jamilon Mülders, Head Coach ; ‘It’s nice to see them (Germany) again, we saw them before in Hamburg. Surely, it’s a bit awkward at the moment, when you step on the pitch and you listen to the national anthem but in the end it’s just a game. It’s really brilliant afterwards, talking to them and I’m sure it will be a good match.”

Pien Sanders, Captain ; “I think it’s very nice to play against a debut country (Chile) and we are really looking forward to it and I think they are excited and we are also, so I think it’s going to be a great match.”

Marloes Keetels, Captain ; « We watched a lot of videos of ourselves, how we can do things better and then tomorrow we will finetune everything against Ireland.”

Xan de Waard, Captain; “It’s amazing to play in front of such a big crowd and we are looking forward to it.

Ireland

Sean Dancer, Head Coach; “Holland is the best team in the world and we are really excited about playing tomorrow and it’s certainly going to be in a full crowd as well so for us this is a pinnacle of what we are after.”

Kathryn Mullan, Captain; “The pitch plays fantastically. There’s a nice lively bounce out of it which we are looking forward to. It’s set out for a tournament which is great to see.”
