FIH President Tayyab Ikram was in attendance today at the Pan American Hockey Federation's Congress, where Danae Andrada was elected as the new PAHF President, and said: “In my personal name, and on behalf of the FIH Executive Board and the global hockey community, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Danae Andrada for being elected as the first-ever female President of the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) by the members of the PAHF Congress held on 15 November in Miami, USA.
Danae and I have worked together for many years to develop hockey, not only in the Pan American region but also globally. I know that Danae will be a highly committed, determined, and forward-thinking President who will always do her best for the benefit of hockey.
My colleagues and I from the FIH Executive Board greatly look forward to continuing our fruitful collaboration with the new PAHF President."

President Ikram also presented an award to the outgoing PAHF President Alberto Budeisky, and said:
"At the same time, I would like to wholeheartedly thank the man who has led PAHF for the past 12 years, Alberto “Coco” Budeisky. His legacy in advancing hockey throughout the Americas is immense!
Although he is leaving his highest hockey position in the region, I am truly glad and grateful that we will continue to benefit from Coco’s vision and dedication in his roles as FIH Vice-President and Executive Board member.”
