Question: What excites you most about the #FIHProLeague?
Caia Van Maasakker: Really curious about how the atmosphere around will be and how the fans will be and how lively it will get, so I’m really looking forward to that as well, for sure.
Eva De Goede: Yes, especially when other countries come to us as well. It will excite a lot of people because there will be like one game that you play against like New Zealand or the Aussies or whoever and I think that brings excitement for all the fans.
Q: Any country you are looking forward to playing in?
EDG: It is always amazing to go to New Zealand or Australia. Quite far though, but I do think those countries are beautiful countries. But then America and Argentina as well because Hockey means something to the people there, so that always excites me.
CVM: For me the same and I love to play in my own country when other teams come to us, so it will be a big festive at that time too.
Q: How do you keep yourself fit when you travel for away games?
CVM: We will manage it together as a team. The downtime will be, maybe, see some movies in the room. But also go for training and maybe see something outside of pitch as well but that will depend on the schedule of course.
EDG: I think it is new for everyone as well, so I think we have to actually see how we manage and if it’s going to work for us. Mostly now with traveling it is also a lot of bed time and rest as well because I think you can only be at your best if you rest enough.
Q: How will your fitness training be different for #FIHProLeague?
CVM: We go to Spain for some training time as a whole group and then we have more trainings in the countries we will play, and fitness, and strength and on the pitch and some running during winter.
Q: How will the atmosphere be in the Netherlands for the event?
EDG: I think it is going to be amazing. If I think about Hockey back home then I definitely think about the Hague 2014 World Cup, which was crazy for us. It won’t be that crazy I think but we will get close to that and it will be amazing.
CVM: For me it is exactly the same. In our country it’s so cool to play for the home people. I think it will be good.
Q: How will #FIHProLeague help in creating awareness about your team?
EDG: I think Hockey in general will be well known worldwide, that’s what I do think.
CVM: For me it is the same, you come to other countries and you live over there. So it will be cool.
