The Junior World Ranking was introduced in June 2023 with the aim of better reflecting the results of this age group (Under 21). The new Ranking model is a Tournament based system and will be constantly impacted by the performance of each new generation of athletes. It can therefore be used as a tool to evaluate the development of hockey in each Nation.
The calculation of the ranking points and the weightings attributed to each competition is similar to what was previously applied for the Senior Outdoor Ranking system and takes into consideration the results of the last three (3) FIH Hockey Junior World Cups and the last three (3) Continental Junior Events.
