AMSTERDAM
As capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam is the country’s cultural and business centre. But Amsterdam also has a rich sporting tradition and is looking forward to giving a warm welcome to the best hockey players in the world. Amsterdam is a lively, open and tolerant city. Every year, millions of tourists visit its 17th century canal rings, splendid patricians’ mansions, great museums and stunning architecture.
Amsterdam’s sporting roots go back to 1928 when the city hosted the Olympic Games. The Olympic Stadium, which underwent a major overhaul in 2000, is still used for major sports occasions to this day. The city hosted a lot of international sporting events last decades.
